@reverseflush: What … @reverseflush: What would ever make you think that someone of one nationality was unable to make a dish from some other nation? That’s what videos like this are all about!!! Regardless of the outcome of the recipe, the idea here is global sharing!!! If you think you have the “authentic” Irish soda bread recipe, let’s see it. We’d all be happy to try it. If you don’t like what you see here, go to another channel. Just like TV!!!
@tdimccullough – … @tdimccullough – Same here, unfortunately. I’m from N.Ireland and if somebody put that in front of me and asked me what it was, soda bread would be the last thing I’d think of…
I made Irish soda … I made Irish soda bread for the first time this year. You score the top of the bread to release steam to prevent the interior of the bread from being doughy. While I prefer yeast bread, ISB seems the practical alternative when in a simple living scenario, i.e., camping, hiking, survival.
sorry but i’m from … sorry but i’m from northern Ireland and that is nothing like soda bread I’ve ever eaten
maybe it’s a variant from southern Ireland
@Reverseflush Great … @Reverseflush Great ,nice and simple, bye the way i made a chinese curry on tuesday and the misus pointed out i was not from china LOL Crack away darling youre doing a grande job from the U.K.
@lexmembrana use … @lexmembrana use regular milk and add vinegar or lemon juice. For every cup of milk, add 1 TBS white vinegar or lemon juice. Good luck.
@lexmembrana Sour … @lexmembrana Sour Cream usually… Other than that like if you’re lactose intolerant, then IDK. You’d have to do research, but it may not turn out.
@napster180 You can … @napster180 You can find King Arthur flour – which is the best commercial flour, IMO – at most grocery stores. If you live in NYC, I also recommend looking into the flours made by Cayuga Pure Organics, from upstate NY.
@Reverseflush … @Reverseflush You’re right, I’m not Irish. But this also isn’t an Irish cooking show…we’ve done everything from Mexican tacos de lengua to Irish soda bread to my great-aunt’s apple cake and Belgian-style mussels. Good food is good food, ethnicity and nationality have nothing to do with it. 🙂
She doesn’t look … She doesn’t look Irish to me. That’s typical just like walking into a genuine Italian restaurant and seeing that the chef is Mexican. Mmm..100% Pure Artificial
hey you two! i just … hey you two! i just wanted to say my favourite thing about your shows is that you guys show what the absolute basics are in the recipes and then you go back and show the ingreedients we can play with or exchange. its really helpful and inspiring, thanks so much!
