It was delicious. It had a taste that made me go mmmmm. 🙂
Man Take: (i.e. Scott’s input) “Add more corned beef and it would be fantastic.”

Family Craft and Decorator Crabs Set the Mood for St. Patricks Day at SEA LIFEâ„¢ Aquarium

    Feb 22nd

Decorator crabs at the new SEA LIFE™ Aquarium in Carlsbad arent waiting for St. Patricks Day to start wearing green. This time lapse photography only lasts about one minute but was taken overnight. Aquarists put algae, pieces of seaweed and green sponges in with decorator crabs and they quickly went to work embellishing their shells with the green décor. Decorator crabs recycle their living decorations during the molting process. They remove the anemones, sponges and other decorations from their old shell and use them to decorate their new shell. These decorator crabs are just one of more than 200 species of creatures in SEA LIFE Aquarium which is located next to LEGOLAND California as a separate admission. This weekend the Aquarium is offering a craft activity where kids can share how they care for our oceans. You can find more information at www.SEALIFEus.com.

    st. patrick’s day party..need ideas?

    Feb 22nd

me and one of my girls are throwing a joined birthday party.
    st. patricks day themed.
    100+ people
    14, 15 years old
    hugeeee!
    i need ideas.
    activities,
    music,
    food,
    decor,
    stuff like that
    please help!
    haha
    ♥

ok so i would do the following:

    decor:
obvioulsy green and white streamers, clovers hanging fromt he ceiling with green and white tableclothes… have like pots of those gold chocolate coin candy as center peices… and then if it is a dance party have there be only green, yellow and white lights… sprinkle some gold glitter on the table tops
have green hats with clovers on them available for each guest at the door to where
have evry guest where green or green and white to the party…
set a blarney stone by the door for good luck

    food:
make cupcakes with vanilla cake batter but add green food coloring so they are green and have white frosting and then get like gold/yellow sprinkles on top…
potatoes! anyway you want… they are big in ireland…
average party food… people wont pay that much attention as long as you use the cupcake idea, potatoes and the pots of chocolate coins ont he tables…
have apple cider available in beer mugs for guests- the irish like to drink
    irish soda bread
    ham
    cabbage
    green m&ms
    green jell-o

    Music::
play music people will actually like and dance to… don’t try and get only irish musice because your guests will be like WTH??
haha… but if you want to i would search online irish dance party music- you never know! mix it in with your music now…

    activities::
because you guys are like 14 and 15 party games are not going to be what you and your guests really care about-you will only want to hang out with friends and dance but here are some ideas::
at the beginning of th eparty tell all your guests that there is a secret pot of gold hidden somewhere (hide it before your guests arrive) an din it is a prize- of your choice (like something small, a gift card or something cheap from the dollar store) and whoever finds it first wins it…
have a bowl of paper three leaved clovers, and have guests blindfolded pick them out of the bowl one at a time and who ever picks out the four leaved clover wins it’s the luck of the IRISH
play spin the bottle – have people where kiss me i’m irish pins
make everyone put on a bright red or pink lipstick- even the guys so funny!- and make them kiss the blarney stone and have written above it on a peice of paper the quote about the blarney stone::

    "There is a stone there,
    That whoever kisses,
    Oh, he never misses
    To grow eloquent.
    ‘Tis he may clamber
    To a lady’s chamber,
    Or become a member
    Of Parliament. "

sorry that is all i have!
    hope i helped!!
    :]

Preschool craft that is quick & easy?

    Feb 22nd

I’m looking for something, possibly to do with St. Patricks Day, for preschooler to make that is quick and easy. Any suggestions?

Here are a few. If none of these catch you eye, have no fear I’ve included lots of websites for you to seach for that perfect craft. Have fun!!

    Leprechaun Ladder!
Need: Yarn, Straws, Green Construction paper, and Scissors.

Directions: Cut about 10 Shamrocks out for each child. Make the Shamrocks Small. About 3 inches wide. Cut Straw into 2 inch pieces. String the Straws and the shamrocks. One Straw, One Shamrock, One Straw, One Shamrock, One Straw, One Shamrock, etc…. (A good Idea is to put tape on one end of the string so it does not come apart, while Stringing. Tape the second end to the table so the objects don’t come off the other side.) When it is done tie a knot in the Yarn on both side. Hang it From the Ceiling. You can make them as long or as short as you wish. They really look great. Also a great Stringing project for Preschoolers.

    Paper Plate Shamrock
Need: 3 paper plates, Green Crayons, Green Construction paper, glue, and scissors.

Directions: Color all three paper plates green. Cut a stem from green construction paper. Glue the three paper plates together and in a triangle type shape. Then glue the stem at the bottom.

    Coffee Filter Shamrock
Need: Coffee Filter, 2 baby food Jars, Water, scissors, Yellow and Blue food coloring, and a Q-tip

Directions: Cut Coffee filter in the shape of a shamrock. Put water in two baby food jars. Add yellow food color in one jar and blue in the other. Give the children Q-tips and let them mix the colors on the coffee filter. You end up with a very interesting green shamrock.

    Texture Shamrocks
    Need: Green paint, grits, paper

Directions: Have the children use green finger-paint that has been mixed with grits (to give it a texture) to cover a shamrock shape.

How can I decorate for a St. Patrick’s Day theme dance?

    Feb 22nd

Ok so we are having a saint partick’s day theme dance.
This is the first we’ve had in a long time.
    I need some decoration ideas.
Ya i no we need green but i need some other ideas.
Hey does anyone know were i can get a really cheap inflatable leprechaun? lol
    I thought of that part.

If you start now you could sprout some alfalfa or clover in little sprouters and have live green cute plants as the centerpieces on your table.

    Four leaf clovers, of course.

You could call it something to do with luck (but Get Lucky might be a little suggestive, depending on your crowd.)

You could have Lucky Charms cereal stuff.

Oriental Traders has TONS of St. Patrick’s Day decorations, probably way better than my ideas. I think they have lots of "Kiss Me I’m Irish" stuff etc.

    Good luck!

planning a christian st. patricks day party any ideas?

    Feb 22nd

i need some ideas for this like games, things involved with st. patricks day. and things like that. please help. thank you

Since St. Patrick’s Day is a feast day for a Catholic Saint it is innately Christian in nature. If you are trying to avoid the over-consumption of alcohol , as is commonly associated with the holiday in the United States , you could do as the Irish do and ..Go to church !

You could also prepare typical Irish dish like Corned Beef and Cabbage , go to a parade,or see a traditional Irish band in concert.

You didn’t specify the ages of people attending your party so another idea is to "invent" some games related to the holiday or country . For example , Saint Patrick is credited for running all the snakes out of Ireland. You could make up trivia cards about the holiday , including such factoids as this . I remember playing a game called Pot o’ Gold with the Irish nuns where we would be given clues to more clues and eventually find the pot o’ gold ( which was filled with gold foil coins).

Just be creative and make up your own ways to celebrate the holiday.

THA BACHELOR CHEF – SAINT PATRICKS DAY CORNED BEEF & CABBAGE

    Feb 21st

Chris makes a classic, one pot meal. He makes a traditional St. Patrick’s day dinner. This is a dish where the earthy flavor stands out thanks to the root vegetables. Simplicity is the key ingredient to this meal. Being able to let each vegetable’s flavor shine was Chris’ main goal. The corned beef was nice and tender when sliced against the grain. This dish is a simple winner.
