I’m looking for links or party ideas for a St. Patricks’ day party that’s memorable, but not tacky or lame. Primarily adults (30-40+) attending. No oriental trading / sparkly shamrock headbands / green streamers type ideas please. Would love food / decor / activities. Thanks!
I went to a St. Patty’s Day party with a lot of memorable stuff.
– everyone drank out of steins. I know that’s more german but it fit in.
– one of the most memorable things was the Veggie platter was done up like the flag of Ireland (Broccoli for green, Cauliflower for white, and carrots for orange). It was so simple but made a big impact.
– there were some good ol’ Irish tunes playing in the background to.
– We did a "Best Jig" contest. It was pretty funny after a few drinks.
Have fun.

For dessert I would suggest Grasshopper Pie. I found this recipe that is identical to mine online with a photo as well.
Grasshopper Pie is a creamy mint pie in a chocolate crumb crust. It uses the liqueur creme de menthe and creme de cacao however if you do not want to use the alcohol just add mint extract and you will mimic the same pie. It is delicious!!

Another similar idea would be to make an ice cream treat. Make an oreo crumb crust. Press it in the bottom of a 9×13" pan. Top it with softened mintchip ice cream. Put it back in the freezer to get solid again. Top it with fudge sauce and whipped cream.

I have kids that are 1/2 Irish so weve done this in the past.
